Humber College Certificate - Pre-apprenticeship Horticultural Technician 2011 - 2012
This program was generously sponsored by MicroSkills, an organization providing training opportunities for women in the trades. I had an incredible experience learning from a diverse group of women as we all entered the field of horticulture together.
Niagara Parks School of Horticulture Diploma - Ornamental Horticulture 2012 - 2015
This hands-on three year apprenticeship combined practical and academic education in ornamental horticulture, plant science, and botanical garden maintenance.
Projects included teamwork on plant installations, to leading crews to long term goals in greenhouse management, IPM, aboriculture, turf management, and native plant management.
My bachelor degree focused on traditional hand drawn animation, especially within children's media and representation.
My graduation film, "Lobster Boy", was about a young boy with lobster claws for hands. The film won third place in the KidsFirst! student film competition.
